Baptiste Genot, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

I joined John Burns’ lab in March 2020 to unravel the secrets of the vertebrate-alga symbiosis and to work on protists biology. We have so much to learn from these organisms! I do think that it is necessary to better understand the microscopic life around us in order to minimize the human’s impact on its environment.

I completed my Ph.D training in 2016 in Paris National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA) working with the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. After that, I worked as Postdoc at the Institute Jacques Monod in molecular virology. Before going to Maine, I was backpacking in Asia for more than a year. I like world cuisine and …outdoors activities to compensate!
